There are numerous family attractions within easy reach of Priory Cottage, perfect for any weather. Many of these have been long time favourites of our daughter and now delight our two grandchildren as well!
Roskilly’s – A firm favourite with our two grandchildren! A 15 minute walk away, this working farm is a great visit. Meet the animals, wander the duck ponds and of course, indulge in their world famous ice cream made right there.
The Seal Sanctuary – This was always our daughter’s favourite place to visit. Buy your tickets online – it’s cheaper! Expanded in recent years, it now includes Beaver Creek, woodland walks, penguins and a large playground overlooking the creek, as well as the seal pools and hospital.
National Maritime Museum – a fantastic wet weather option, this museum has plenty of interactive activities and run children’s activities during school holidays.
Donkey Sanctuary – While you wouldn’t spend a full day here, this is a lovely place to pop into and meet the very friendly rescue donkeys.
The Chocolate Factory and Craft Centre – a lovely collection of Cornish makers and artists are based here, including Zoe at the Mullion Glass Workshop. She runs excellent glass-making sessions for all ages.
Via Ferrata, Longdowns – Something for adventurous children over 10.
Kernow Adventure Aquapark – A place where children over 6 can slip, slide and splash around in a flooded quarry.
The welcome pack contains plenty of information about other attractions slightly further afield as well.
